Harris Brake Lakeside Resort
We decided to try out a new campground in the area! It is a little further out, about 40 minutes from work, but we could live with that for a while. It had full hookups, cable, internet and laundry (funny how those things become so important!). The owners were really nice, and the view was spectacular!
We were perched up on a hill, so we had an overlook of the boat ramp where the kids and Maximus were allowed to swim.
They had a nice boat dock where everyone could fish and April could work on her casting net skills.
She has gotten really good at it, too! At the Maumelle campground, she would pull up a whole net full and has even sold some to the local fishermen! Here at Harris Brake, the shad were a little scarce.
They had a small marina where we were able to rent a paddleboat. It was a lot of fun, but boy were our legs tired!
Every Friday, they have a cookout for everyone and a jam session. We had banjo’s, guitars, tambourines, and Mark even got to try his hand at playing spoons! He was really good, not too surprising. I wish I had taken some pictures, but I guess I will have to do that next time! We sure will be visiting them again, soon.
