A Day of Fun, Sun, and the Loch Ness Monster!

Finally, a free weekend! We have been so busy getting set up and driving around looking at other campgrounds that we haven’t gotten out much to just have fun. We took advantage of this sunny Saturday and headed down to the water park that is about 15 minutes away. It was small enough that you didn’t get exhausted just from walking from one slide to the next, but big enough to have some fun slides for everyone.

The Creative Side

They say that fresh air inspires creativity. Well, apparently it does for Joshua! I sent him to go brush his hair after his shower. After he was in there for a while, I asked him a question. He answered, then asked – very politely – “Do you mind if I concentrate on my new haircut?” I laughed, of course thinking he meant combing his hair but getting the words mixed up. April however, knew exactly what he meant and asked in a slightly panicked voice, “You’re cutting your hair?”

Thinking About the Future

Well, at least 28 days into the future. That is the limit that we can stay at our current park before we have to leave for 7 days. We love it here, but it will be fun to get a change of scenery. We have been driving around every day after work, checking out the close and not-so-close parks that we can visit during our break.

Toad Suck Daze!

Yep, you read that right. Toad Suck Daze. It is a big deal around here. We heard about it time and again from locals, and we just had to go see what all the fuss was about. Turns out it is a big festival centered around a town named Toad Suck.

The Worst Part

Ok, I’ll admit it. There is a downside to this life. It can be described using only two words: Black Tank

We were dreading this day, Mark more than myself because he has such a weak stomach. Of course we put in hours of research, trying to find the best solution. The less messy option would seem to be unhooking and driving down to the dump station and just emptying the tank directly into the ground. However, that is such a hassle to hitch up the trailer every time.
